Chelsea left-back Benjamin Mendy has revealed that he joined Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr in order to pursue trophies, rather than for financial gain.

“I wanted to experience a new challenge and I believe that Al-Nassr can offer me the opportunity to win important trophies,” Mendy said in a recent interview.

The French international defender signed with Al-Nassr in the summer transfer window, despite receiving lucrative offers from clubs in Europe.

“Money was not the deciding factor for me. I am motivated by the desire to win silverware and prove myself at the highest level,” Mendy explained.

Since joining Al-Nassr, Mendy has made a significant impact on the team’s performance, leading them to the top of the Saudi Professional League table.

“I am enjoying my time in Saudi Arabia and I am confident that we can achieve great success together,” Mendy added.

Despite facing criticism for his move to a lesser-known league, Mendy remains focused on his goal of winning trophies with Al-Nassr.

“I believe that football is about more than just money. It is about passion, determination, and the pursuit of excellence,” Mendy stated.

With his winning mentality and leadership qualities, Mendy has quickly become a fan favorite at Al-Nassr and is poised to make a significant impact in the team’s quest for silverware.

As Mendy continues to excel on the pitch, it is clear that his decision to prioritize trophies over money has paid off, both personally and professionally.
